SheetCrew for ActiveCampaign: user guide

Last updated October 22, 2026

Every feature, step by step. The menu is under Extensions → SheetCrew for ActiveCampaign.

Connect ActiveCampaign

  1. Open a Google Sheet and install SheetCrew for ActiveCampaign from Extensions → Add-ons → Get add-ons. During early access we install it for you.
  2. Open Extensions → SheetCrew for ActiveCampaign and choose Connect. The first time, Google asks you to allow it to edit the current spreadsheet. It can only see the spreadsheet you are in.
  3. Create your free SheetCrew account when asked. If you already use another SheetCrew add-on, you are signed in already.
  4. Paste your API URL and API key. You find it in ActiveCampaign under Settings → Developer.

Disconnect removes your ActiveCampaign key from your Google account.

ActiveCampaign

Bulk delete, find duplicates and inactive contacts, edit fields and clean up tags.

Load contacts

Choose Load all contacts, or load by tag, by list or by search. Contacts appear in a Contacts sheet with a Select checkbox on each row. The delete and tag tools act on the ticked rows.

Bulk delete

  1. Tick Select on each contact to remove, or use Check all / Uncheck all.
  2. Choose Delete checked contacts and type DELETE to confirm.
  3. The Status column shows the result for each row.

Heads up: deletes in ActiveCampaign can't be undone.

Find duplicates

After loading, choose Find duplicates. Contacts sharing an email or phone number are marked in the Duplicate of column so you can filter and review them.

Inactive contacts

  1. Choose Find inactive contacts… and enter a number of months, such as 6.
  2. SheetCrew checks each loaded contact for email opens or clicks since then and writes the result in the Engagement column. Recently added contacts are left alone.
  3. Choose Check inactive contacts to tick them, review, then Delete checked contacts.

Add or remove a tag in bulk

Tick any contacts in the Contacts sheet, then choose Add tag to checked… or Remove tag from checked… and type the tag name. A new tag is created if needed. The Status column shows what happened to each contact.

Bulk edit fields

  1. Load contacts, and tick some if you only want to edit those. Then choose Load fields for editing. A Contact fields sheet shows email, name, phone and every custom field.
  2. Edit cells: type, paste, fill down, or find and replace. Clear a cell to empty the field. For fields with options, type the option's name; for checkbox and multi-select fields, separate options with commas. Dates are yyyy-mm-dd.
  3. Choose Save field changes. Only changed cells are sent, and bad values are reported on their row. Unlike a CSV import, this never creates new contacts.

Clean up unused tags

  1. Choose Load tags. A Tags sheet lists every tag with how many contacts have it.
  2. Choose Check unused tags to tick the tags with no contacts, or tick any tags yourself.
  3. Choose Delete selected tags and type DELETE.

Heads up: automations, segments and forms that use a deleted tag stop matching it, so check ActiveCampaign's Tag Manager first if you are unsure.
